Taco Seasoned Steak

1 envelope taco seasoning mix
1 cup water
1/4 cup tequila or dry sherry
1 3-pound round steak, cut 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick

Marinate round steak in tequila and taco seasoning mix for a unique barbeque entree

  Makes: 6 servings
Prep:
Marinate: several hours or refrigerate up to 24 hours, turning once
Grill: 30 to 35 minutes (rare)
1. Combine taco seasoning mix, water, and tequila or sherry. Trim excess fat from round steak; slash the fat edge at 1-inch intervals. Place meat in a large clear bag in a deep bowl. Pour taco marinade into the bag. Seal and marinate several hours or overnight in the refrigerator, turning once.

2.

Drain steak, reserving marinade. Grill steak over medium coals 3 inches from heat for a total of 30 to 35 minutes for rare doneness, turning steak frequently and basting with reserved marinade each time. Garnish with parsley and chili peppers, if desired. Slice steak across grain to serve. Makes 6 servings.
